Foster Carer

Fostering a rescue animal is both the most rewarding and the hardest thing to do. You give so much of yourself to get the animal ready to go to his or her forever home and at the same time you want to keep them. That can be decided at the time but you can be satisfied that you played a part in helping an animal find a home and that you made a difference to whether it had a second chance at life or not.

Some people are very good at fostering while others are good at adopting. That is okay. We all have our part. Fosterers are very much needed to care for dogs and cats in a homely environment while their new homes and prospective owners are assessed.

Is your part to foster? Talk to us about giving it a try ... it is truly a very rewarding experience. We know that life is complicated so when a fostering opportunity arises Halfway Home contacts you to see if you are currently available and that the particular animal is suitable. As a foster carer there is no obligation to take on an animal that is not suitable for your home at that time. We can ask you again another time if you prefer.

All vet costs are covered and all we ask is for you to provide the dog or cat with food, shelter, exercise and care. Occasionally, you may also need to take them for any vet visits they may require.

If you're compassionate, reliable and trustworthy and can take dogs and/or cats in to your home on a temporary basis, then we'd love to hear from you.

Please
contact us  and we will send you a Foster Carer application form to complete.
